Does everything happens for a reason?
Everything happens for a reason
Many people claim the above phrase, but how can you justify one of the biggest negative/horrific experience of someone's life with "its for a reason"?
What do people even mean when they say, "everything happenes for a reason"? After all, there are so so many horrific events that have occurred in others life, how can you ever justify that it was for "a reason"?
- Are these people living in an idealistic world?
- Are they just too naive to not look at the crushing reality that is in front of them?
- Are the people saying these too priveledged, that they haven't really experienced the horrors of the world/life?
But lately, I've started to understand why we should be using this belief (in a general sense), because the impact it can have on one's life.
A difficult past doesn't close off a good future.
Even after something bad happens, there can still be countless "paths" toward something amazing.
When a person eventually reaches one of those "amazing futures", they may look back and realize that "this specific amazing future" was only possible because of the "path" created by that "specific bad event" in the past.
That's where the saying "everything happens for a reason" comes from.
But if a person gives up, the event remains only a "bad event."
Maybe the more useful way to frame it is: "as long as you keep trying to do better, everything can become part of the reason". A setback can eventually lead to something amazing, and since that setback lead to a future "good thing", we simplify and say, "everything does happen for a reason".
